Project Overview

Restaurants today face fragmented workflows across ordering, payments, inventory, accounting, kitchen operations, and delivery — all managed through disconnected tools, manual spreadsheets, and costly third-party aggregators. Talabat Menu needed a unified cloud platform that brings front-of-house and back-of-house operations under one roof, giving restaurant owners complete control over their workflows, branded customer experience, and bottom line.

The Challenge

Fragmented Order-to-Kitchen Workflow
Integrating front-of-house order capture — from dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and digital channels — with kitchen workflows was a core challenge. Orders needed real-time routing, priority management, and visual status tracking to keep the kitchen in sync with the floor.
Real-Time Inventory Tied to Recipes & Sales
Accurate, real-time inventory tracking that automatically deducts stock based on recipes when orders are placed, monitors waste and shrinkage, and alerts on low stock levels — all without manual intervention from kitchen staff.
Accounting & Multi-Channel Reconciliation
Restaurants receive payments through POS, online orders, and third-party aggregators — each with different settlement cycles and commission structures. Building accounting flows that automatically reconcile all channels, generate accurate financial reports, and simplify bookkeeping was a significant challenge.
Reducing Aggregator Dependency
Third-party food delivery platforms charge 25-35% commissions, severely impacting restaurant margins. Giving restaurants their own branded ordering channel with digital menus, direct customer engagement, and marketing tools required building a compelling alternative that customers would actually use.

Built a cloud POS integrated with a Kitchen Display System featuring color-coded order status, priority queues, and visual routing. Orders from all channels — dine-in, takeaway, delivery, and online — flow directly to the kitchen with real-time status updates, aligning front-of-house and back-of-house operations seamlessly.

Recipe-Linked Inventory Management
Developed an inventory module that ties stock directly to menu items via recipe mapping. Every order automatically deducts ingredients in real-time, tracks waste and shrinkage, and triggers low-stock alerts — giving kitchen managers instant visibility into what needs restocking and what's being wasted.

Integrated Accounting & Reconciliation
Built an accounting management module that integrates POS sales, third-party aggregator settlements, and invoice data into a unified ledger. Automated reconciliation across all revenue channels simplifies bookkeeping, reduces errors, and provides restaurant owners with clear financial reports and profit visibility.

Branded Digital Menus & Direct Ordering
Created a branded website and QR-powered digital menu system enabling restaurants to accept direct orders from customers — bypassing aggregator commissions. Combined with marketing tools and customer engagement features, restaurants can build their own loyal customer base.
